U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a national address on Thursday that the ongoing military campaign against Iran will continue, indicating that further action could be taken within the next two to three weeks amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Trump said the military operation, named ‘Operation Epic Fury’, remains active and has been underway for approximately one month. He stated that U.S. forces have achieved multiple objectives during this period.
According to Trump, U.S. forces have gained a decisive advantage on the battlefield over the past four weeks. He described the developments as significant and indicated that the United States intends to continue advancing the operation.
Trump said the United States could intensify its actions against Iran within the next two to three weeks. He stated that U.S. forces are working at full capacity to achieve all designated targets and warned that additional measures could be taken if necessary.
Issuing a direct warning to Iran, Trump said that in the absence of an agreement, the United States would carry out large-scale attacks. He stated that the United States is prepared to take all necessary steps to push back Iran.
In his address, Trump also said that U.S. forces could target Iran’s power plants if an agreement is not reached. He stated that such strikes could be carried out simultaneously at multiple locations, potentially causing significant damage to Iran’s infrastructure.
Trump claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been significantly weakened. He said Iran’s navy is nearly eliminated and its air force has been severely impacted. He also stated that several senior military and political leaders in Iran are no longer in position.
He further said that the command and control systems of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are being dismantled. Addressing the possibility of political change in Iran, Trump stated that regime change has never been a U.S. objective, while adding that recent developments have resulted in changes in leadership.
