During the past 24 hours, Banda was the hottest district in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius. Intense heat was also reported in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur and nearby districts.
The department has issued a warning for severe to very severe heatwave conditions in some areas from June 21 to June 24. Experts have advised people to avoid going outdoors during afternoon hours. Children, elderly people and those with illnesses have been urged to exercise additional caution as heatwave conditions can have serious health impacts.
Parts of western Uttar Pradesh recorded dust storms and light rainfall in recent days. The Meteorological Department estimates that weather conditions will remain largely dry across most areas between June 22 and June 25, although some locations may experience cloud cover and light rainfall.

According to meteorologists, a trough extending from Punjab to Bihar and a cyclonic circulation active over northwestern Uttar Pradesh are influencing weather conditions. In addition, another trough line extends from eastern Uttar Pradesh to coastal Andhra Pradesh.
These weather systems are resulting in varying conditions across different parts of the state. While some areas are experiencing hot winds, others are witnessing cloud cover and light rainfall activity.
The Meteorological Department and agricultural experts have advised farmers to take necessary precautions in view of the prevailing heat. Recommendations include light irrigation for vegetable and fruit crops, adopting mulching techniques to maintain soil moisture, and using shade nets to protect newly planted crops from intense sunlight.
Livestock owners have also been advised to ensure adequate availability of clean and cool drinking water for animals. The Meteorological Department believes rainfall activity may increase in some parts of the state after June 25, which could lead to a decline in temperatures and provide some relief from the heat.
