Firozabad Rain Causes Waterlogging as Council Schools Declare Holiday

Intermittent rain in Firozabad since late Sunday night brought relief from heat and humidity but caused waterlogging in low-lying areas. The Basic Education Department declared a holiday for council-run schools, while municipal teams worked on water drainage.

Rain continued intermittently in Firozabad from late Sunday night into Monday, bringing relief from heat and humidity but causing waterlogging in several low-lying areas. In view of the rain and waterlogging, the Basic Education Department declared a holiday for council-run schools, while municipal teams worked to drain the accumulated water.

Rain began in Firozabad at around 1 AM on Sunday night. It continued at intervals, with periods of continuous rainfall followed by breaks. Rain persisted on Monday morning, changing the weather conditions.

People who had been experiencing heat and humidity for several days received relief from the rain. Fewer people were seen on the roads than on normal days, with only those who needed to go out leaving their homes.

Continuous rain led to waterlogging in several low-lying parts of the city. Water accumulated in New Abadi and wards located in low-lying areas, as well as along the highway, Linepar and areas connected to Bamba Bypass.

After receiving complaints about waterlogging, municipal teams reached different locations and began drainage work. Officials and employees worked in the affected areas to manage the situation.

The Basic Education Department declared a holiday for council-run schools on Monday in view of the rain and waterlogging. The Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) issued the holiday order at 6 AM.

Rain was also reported in Shikohabad, Tundla and Makkhanpur, along with rural areas. After the school holiday was announced, children did not have to travel to school. Several children were seen playing around their homes during the rain.

The rain also brought relief from the temperature. However, people in waterlogged areas faced difficulties while travelling. Municipal teams continued working to remove the accumulated water.
