A wanted criminal, absconding for five years after murdering his brother, has finally been apprehended by the police. This case is as emotionally charged as it is surprising. The culprit, guilty of fratricide, continuously evaded capture by changing his name and identity, hiding in major cities like Gujarat and Mumbai. However, persistent police surveillance, intelligence gathering, and meticulous planning ultimately led to his arrest.
Disappearance After the Murder, Family Astonished
The incident occurred about five years ago when the accused murdered his elder brother following a family dispute. Initial investigations revealed that a conflict over property and disagreements escalated to the point where the accused, in a fit of rage, stabbed his brother to death. He fled the scene immediately, and for years, the police lacked concrete information about his whereabouts.
Even the family had given up hope of his ever being caught. The case became a challenge for the police, especially since a reward of ₹25,000 was offered, yet no leads materialized.
Changing Identity While Hiding in Mumbai and Gujarat
Special police teams relentlessly pursued him for five years, tracking his mobile network activity, past contacts, bank account details, and social media presence. A few months ago, information surfaced from a Gujarat village about a newcomer whose appearance bly resembled the accused.
The team immediately launched an undercover investigation. They discovered that the individual was working in a factory under a false identity and frequently visited Mumbai. After carefully planning the operation and waiting for the right moment, the police apprehended him in Nalasopara, Mumbai, as he was boarding a bus.
Attempt to Deceive Police Even During Arrest
During his arrest, the accused denied his identity and provided a false name. However, the prepared team quickly confirmed his identity using fingerprint and facial recognition technology. An officer involved in the arrest stated, “The accused changed locations numerous times, grew a beard and mustache, altered his hairstyle, and even obtained a fake Aadhaar card. But however old the crime, the long arm of the law eventually catches up.”
Hope for Justice
The accused has been produced in court and taken into police custody. The police are interrogating him to determine if he committed any other crimes during his time on the run or was involved with any criminal network. This case serves as a harsh lesson for families and society, highlighting how fractured relationships can tragically escalate to violence.
