This situation caused outrage among the villagers, and the incident quickly became a topic of discussion on social media.

In Amgaon village of Balaghat district, a funeral procession had to pass through paddy fields and mud to reach the cremation ground. The family members were distressed by this predicament, and the villagers were angered by witnessing this scene. Villagers state that this problem is not new. The main road leading to the cremation ground has been blocked for years due to encroachment and the lack of road construction. Every time an cremation takes place, the family members have to face the same difficulty.
Encroachment and Farming Worsen the Difficulty
Villagers allege that the road to the cremation ground is registered in government records, but the administration has not built a road there yet. In the meantime, some people have encroached upon that path and started farming, making it even more difficult for funeral processions to pass.

Two Cremation Grounds... A Double Problem
There are two types of cremation grounds in the village: one by the river, where the larger segment of the village performs final rites, and another separate cremation ground for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Due to encroachment and the blocked path, these communities, in particular, are facing immense hardship.

Landowners and Panchayat at Odds
The landowner claims that the land through which the path passes is their purchased property. They state that the path should be diverted elsewhere and that the encroachment on their land is incorrect.
Meanwhile, the Gram Panchayat (village council) states that this path is registered in government records, but due to a lack of budget, the road construction has not been completed yet. The Panchayat has assured that a meeting will be called soon to resolve this dispute.
