Gen Z Protests Rage in Nepal Amidst Escalating Crime Wave in Bihar

Protests by Gen Z continue in urban and rural areas of Nepal, with several government properties damaged. Incidents like the daylight murder of a youth in Sitamarhi, chain snatching in Muzaffarpur, and the rape of a minor in Rohtas have spread terror in the region.

Patna: Generation Z protests are ongoing across Nepal. Despite the lifting of the ban on 26 social media platforms, the youth are engaging in violent demonstrations. Meanwhile, crime incidents in Bihar have presented a serious challenge to the local administration and police. Illegal liquor smuggling, road accidents, rape, and murder incidents have heightened concerns in the rural and urban areas of the state.

Protests in the Capital and Other Cities of Nepal

In Nepal, protesters vandalized government offices in various areas, from the capital Kathmandu to Biratnagar, Dharan, and Birgunj, on Tuesday. Several government vehicles and police posts were set ablaze. Arson incidents were also reported at the Integrated Checkpost on the Jogbani border.

Protesters also targeted leaders of political parties in Nepal and their residences. Incidents of encroachment and arson at leaders' homes have escalated tensions across the country. Security has been heightened along the India-Nepal border, and a high alert has been issued with an increased deployment of the SSB.

Liquor Recovered from a Tractor in Bhojpur

In a major operation, the Prohibition Department in Bhojpur district seized a large quantity of foreign liquor from an unlicensed tractor at Nayakatola More. The total amount of seized liquor was 1209.600 liters, with an estimated value of approximately 15 lakh rupees. This liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Patna. The operation is ongoing under the directives of District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, and the department stated that action against illegal liquor will continue.

In the meantime, incidents like daylight chain snatching in Muzaffarpur and murder in Sitamarhi have instilled fear among the public. People are expressing concern over the law and order situation.

Woman Dies in Scooty-Truck Accident in Aurangabad

In Aurangabad district, 55-year-old Dulari Devi died in a collision between a scooty and a truck on National Highway 19. Her husband was injured. A large crowd gathered at the scene after the incident. A sensational case of gang rape of a minor student has surfaced in the Indrapuri police station area of Rohtas district. Police have arrested four accused.

In Sitamarhi, Rishi Mandal was shot dead in broad daylight in the Sonbarsa police station area. These incidents in the rural areas are increasing fear and a sense of insecurity among the local population.

Smack Smugglers Arrested While Traveling from Purnea to Forbesganj

Police arrested two smack smugglers who were traveling from Purnea to Forbesganj. 147 grams of smack were recovered from 47-year-old Ajay Kumar, and 100 grams from 28-year-old Amit Kumar. A case has been registered against both under the NDPS Act. Police are investigating their past criminal records and searching for other associates.

In Dighi Chauhan Tola, Katihar, a couple was apprehended and forced into marriage. However, the youth refused this marriage. The incident sparked discussions among villagers regarding social disputes and the role of the local administration.
