Gold on MCX today reached nearly ₹1.26 lakh, while silver is trading around ₹1.63 lakh. Strong buying in the international market and increasing demand for safe-haven investments have supported the prices of both metals.
Gold-Silver Price Today: Today, both gold and silver futures prices saw an uptrend in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold approached the ₹1,26,000 level. Meanwhile, silver is trading near ₹1,63,750. Strong buying in both metals continues in the international market, maintaining the upward price momentum.
Gold Price Surge
On MCX, the December gold contract opened with a gain of ₹225 at ₹1,25,729. At the time of reporting, gold was trading at ₹1,25,933 and had touched a day's high of ₹1,26,283. This year's high for gold has been ₹1,31,699. Consistently b global sentiment and increasing demand for safe-haven investments are supporting gold prices.
Silver Prices Also Rise
The December silver contract on MCX opened with a gain of ₹1,383 at ₹1,63,850. Currently, it is trading at the ₹1,63,750 level. The day's high was ₹1,65,201. This year, silver has reached ₹1,69,200 per kilogram. This surge in silver prices is attributed to industrial demand and strength in international prices.
Strong Trend in International Market
On Comex, gold opened at $4,163.40 per ounce and is trading higher at $4,187.40. This year, its high has been $4,398. Silver is also trading higher on Comex at $53.82 and has touched a day's level of $53.86. The weakening dollar index in the global market and investors' interest in safe-haven assets are supporting prices.
