The Greater Noida Authority has made a significant decision, approving a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for multi-story flat owners with properties up to 121 square meters. This scheme is expected to provide relief to thousands of people who have been struggling with issues related to lease registration for a long time. EWS, LIG, and MIG category individuals will be eligible to benefit from the scheme.
Scheme Valid Until December 31st
According to authority officials, this scheme is for a limited period and will be effective until December 31, 2025. Flat owners who participate in the scheme within this period may be granted concessions in cases related to pending lease dues, penalties, and interest. The authority will soon release detailed orders and procedures for implementing this scheme.
Long-Pending Cases to Gain Momentum
The main objective of the One-Time Settlement scheme is to expedite the resolution of old and pending cases related to leases. This will not only provide relief to the general public but also generate revenue for the authority. Many people had not been able to get their lease registered even after taking possession for years, leading to legal and financial hurdles.
Chief Secretary Presided Over the Meeting
This decision was taken at the Authority's board meeting held last Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh and Chairman of the Authority, via video conferencing. Several important proposals related to urban development, infrastructure, and civic amenities were also approved during the meeting.
New Regulator for Flood Protection from Hindon River
To provide flood protection to areas located along the Hindon River, the Authority has approved a plan to construct a new regulator in the Aimnabad area. This regulator will help prevent the ongoing erosion near the Bisrakh drain. This project will be completed through the Irrigation Department, with an estimated cost of ₹10 crore 56 lakh. The entire cost will be borne by the Greater Noida Authority.
CISF Personnel to Get Accommodation
Considering the construction and upcoming security of Noida International Airport, the Authority has taken a significant decision. The plan to lease 467 vacant flats located in Sector Omicron-1A to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been approved. These flats are in the LIG and MIG categories and are considered very important from a security point of view around the airport. This will provide the personnel with convenient and secure accommodation nearby.
Construction of Community Building Progressing Rapidly
The Greater Noida Authority has started the construction of a two-story community building in Sector Omicron-1A. All necessary facilities such as a hall, kitchen, store, toilets, and parking are being developed in this building. This building will be ready in the next six months and will be available to local residents for social and cultural events.
Underpass Construction at Char Murti Chowk in Full Swing
To alleviate the problem of traffic jams in Greater Noida West, an underpass is being constructed at Char Murti Chowk. This project has been proposed for a long time, and now its work is progressing rapidly. According to officials, the construction of this underpass will not only ease traffic but also save people time. The Authority aims to complete this project within the stipulated timeframe.
Basic Amenities in the City to be Strengthened
During the meeting, several proposals to strengthen urban amenities and basic infrastructure were also discussed. Plans are being prepared to further improve road construction, drainage, electricity supply, and sanitation. The Authority's objective is to develop Greater Noida as an ideal city not only from a residential point of view but also from a commercial and industrial perspective.
People Will Get Direct Benefit
The biggest benefit of the One-Time Settlement scheme will be for those who have been stuck in paperwork for years. Due to the non-registration of the lease, they neither had full rights to the flat nor could they sell or mortgage it to anyone. Now, with this scheme, they will be able to legally own the property.
