Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos Opens at ₹1.25 Crore on First Day at Box Office

The Hindi-language film Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos recorded a subdued opening at the domestic box office following its theatrical release on January 16. The film collected approximately ₹1.25 crore on its opening day, according to early estimates reported by box office tracking portal Sacnilk.

Despite featuring a prominent cast including Vir Das and Imran Khan, and a special cameo appearance by Aamir Khan, the film’s first-day earnings remained below the ₹2 crore mark. Trade observers have described the opening as muted based on initial collection figures.

Sacnilk noted that the reported opening-day numbers are early trends and may see marginal revisions once official data is released.

The film has received mixed responses from audiences and critics following its release. While some viewers have responded to its comic treatment and light narrative tone, others have described the storyline and screenplay as average.

Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos is directed jointly by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri. The screenplay has been written by Vir Das and Amogh Randive. The film follows the story of a spy whose good intentions repeatedly place him in unusual and complicated situations.

The cast also includes Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Sharib Hashmi in key roles. The film is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions.

Despite the presence of well-known names and a high-profile cameo, the film struggled to draw audiences to theatres on its opening day. Industry tracking will continue to monitor its performance over the weekend.
