HDFC Flexi Cap Fund has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore in assets under management (AUM), marking a significant milestone in the mutual fund industry. With this achievement, it has become the third mutual fund in the country to reach this level of AUM.

According to the company, the milestone reflects the fund’s consistent performance, investor trust, and disciplined investment strategy. Following the resignation of Roshni Jain, Amit Ganatra assumed charge as fund manager on 1 February 2026 and has taken over the scheme with a revised perspective and strategy.

HDFC Flexi Cap Fund is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. The fund was launched on 1 January 1995 and has delivered returns to investors since inception. Over three decades, it has generated compounded growth for investors.

Since launch, the fund has delivered a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.66 percent. Its performance has been recorded across both lump sum and systematic investment plan (SIP) modes.

For a lump sum investment made at launch on 1 January 1995, an investment of Rs 1 lakh would have grown to Rs 2,02,16,393 after 31 years, reflecting an annual return of 18.66 percent.

Under the SIP mode, a monthly investment of Rs 1,000 would have resulted in a total investment of Rs 3,72,000 over 31 years. The value of this SIP investment after 31 years would have reached Rs 2,24,33,784, translating into an annual return of 20.82 percent.

The fund follows a flexible and research-based investment strategy. It has the mandate to invest across market capitalisations and sectors, with the objective of long-term wealth creation. Fund managers adjust the portfolio in line with market conditions while focusing on risk management.

Navneet Munot, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HDFC AMC, said the real achievement is the fund’s three-decade journey. He stated that the Rs 1 lakh crore AUM milestone is the outcome of a systematic process and disciplined investment approach, reflecting the trust of millions of investors. He added that the fund has maintained its focus on long-term wealth creation across different market cycles.

The fund house said the milestone comes at a time when investor participation in equity mutual funds continues to increase. Flexi cap funds have the ability to adjust allocations in response to changing market conditions.

According to AMFI data, among 11 equity mutual fund sub-categories, flexi cap funds attracted the highest investor inflows. In January 2026, these funds recorded total inflows of Rs 7,672 crore.

The other two funds that have achieved the Rs 1 lakh crore AUM milestone are Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund and HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund. As of 31 January 2026, their AUM stood at Rs 1.33 lakh crore and Rs 1.06 lakh crore, respectively.
