Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played a key role in India’s title-winning campaign at the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026, will not appear for his Class 10 board examinations despite earlier reports stating that he would sit for the exams.
The 14-year-old opener recently contributed significantly to India’s triumph at the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. His father confirmed that he will not be participating in the board examinations.
Reason for Not Appearing in Examination
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is pursuing his studies at Modesty School in Tajpur. School principal Adarsh Kumar, also known as Pintu, stated that the decision was taken after discussions with Vaibhav’s father. The primary reason cited was commitments related to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and preparations for Under-19 cricket tournaments.
Adarsh Kumar said that Vaibhav’s examination centre had been allotted and all formalities had been completed. His admit card had also been issued. He added that Vaibhav would have appeared for the examination if not for his cricket commitments.

Examination Centre and Arrangements
According to the information provided, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s examination centre was designated at Poddar International School in Samastipur. School principal Neel Kishore confirmed that all necessary documents had been securely maintained by the school administration. He stated that Vaibhav would have appeared like any other student and no special arrangements were planned for him.
The Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations were scheduled to commence on 17 February, with both classes assigned the same examination centre. However, it has now been confirmed that Vaibhav will not take the examination. Owing to his popularity, discussions had taken place regarding security arrangements at the centre. The school administration had assigned responsibility for security to the local police.
Balancing Cricket and Education
At 14 years of age, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already represented India in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. His father stated that his current priority remains his cricket career and preparations with the national team. Despite postponing the board examination, the school administration and family continue to focus on his education.
Given his popularity, the school administration had informed local authorities in advance about the possibility of requiring additional security at the examination centre. However, the school clarified that no special security arrangements would be made for any single student and uniform rules would apply to all candidates.
