Helly Shah Addresses Nepotism in Entertainment and its Impact on Artists

Actress Helly Shah, known for her popular television serials and recent appearances in several films, has recently spoken out about the prevalence of nepotism in the entertainment industry.

Entertainment: Helly Shah, who has made a name for herself in television and films with her acting skills, recently shared her views on nepotism in the entertainment industry in an interview. She explained how this trend affects the mental health of talented artists and why it becomes an emotional challenge for hardworking artists like herself.

'Not getting work hurts even more when you are capable' – Helly Shah

During a conversation on 'The Free Press Journal's' show 'SheRoes,' Helly Shah revealed that she has experienced the inequalities caused by nepotism. Without naming anyone, she said,

'Obviously it feels bad, because when you know you are also worthy of that work, yet you don't get the opportunity just because you don't have any backup from the industry, it is very disheartening.'

Helly's statement has broken the silence prevalent in the industry, behind which many struggling artists remain suppressed.

Nepotism is not limited to entertainment

Helly also clarified that nepotism is not just a problem in the film or TV industry, but it can be seen in every field. She said: "Nepotism is in every industry, but our field is discussed more because everything here is in the public eye. Being an artist, these things prick you deeply."

Helly shared that she has gone through a phase when she worked hard for a big project, but ultimately that opportunity was snatched away from her:

'I was very excited about a project, but it suddenly stopped. Someone else didn't replace me, but that experience affected me emotionally a lot. To be honest, that experience was more painful than a breakup.'

She further said that artists should be prepared for every situation, but when opportunities are not available despite continuous hard work, one feels helpless.

Now I have stopped expecting

Learning from her experience, Helly said that she has now stopped expecting from others: "Now I don't expect much, because expectations often give the greatest pain. I only believe in giving my best, and leave everything else to God.” Helly Shah's career started in 2010 with 'Zindagi Ka Har Rang... Gulaal'. After this, she won the hearts of the audience by giving excellent performances in shows like 'Swaragini', 'Sufiyana Pyaar Mera', 'Ishq Mein Marjawan 2', 'Laal Ishq', 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'.

She has also appeared in some film projects recently, in which her character has been appreciated. Helly's specialty is that she does not let negative experiences dominate her and emerges ber every time.
