Gorakhpur, December 26, 2025: A serious incident has come to light in the Belghat police station area of Gorakhpur, where a husband murdered his wife due to suspicion and buried her body in a pit behind their house. The accused has been arrested following the revelation of the crime.
According to police, the accused husband suspected his wife based on certain conversations on her mobile phone. During an argument, he strangled her to death. After the murder, the accused dug a pit at night and buried his wife's body there.
Following suspicions raised by family members, the accused's father filed a complaint with the police. The police interrogated the accused, who confessed to the crime. The police excavated the area behind the house and recovered the body, subsequently arresting the husband and initiating further action.
A case of murder has been registered, and the accused will be sent to judicial custody after the post-mortem examination. Police stated that a thorough investigation into the matter is ongoing, and all aspects are being examined.
