The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has revised the vacancies for the Regional Rural Bank (RRB) Recruitment 2026. According to the revised figures, the total number of vacancies has increased from 13,706 to 13,757, an increase of 51 posts from the initially announced vacancies. The highest number of vacancies is for the Office Assistant (Multipurpose) post.
Under the revised vacancy list, the number of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts has been increased from 8,183 to 8,222. Revised vacancies have also been issued for different posts in the Officer category.
The revised vacancies are 8,222 for Office Assistant (Multipurpose), 4,256 for Officer Scale-I, 666 for Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer), 220 for Officer Scale-III, 182 for Officer Scale-II (IT), 82 for Officer Scale-II (Chartered Accountant), 56 for Officer Scale-II (Law), 38 for Officer Scale-II (Agriculture Officer), 19 for Officer Scale-II (Treasury Manager), and 16 for Officer Scale-II (Marketing Officer), taking the total to 13,757.
The initial recruitment notification had announced a total of 13,706 posts, including 8,183 Office Assistant posts. Following the revision, Office Assistant vacancies have increased by 39, while total vacancies have increased by 51. There has been no change in the 4,256 Officer Scale-I posts. Candidates should refer to the revised vacancy notification for information related to the application, examination and selection process.
Educational qualifications and experience requirements vary according to the post. For Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I, candidates are generally required to hold a graduation degree from a recognised institution. Prior work experience in the relevant field is not mandatory for these posts.
For specialist Officer Scale-II posts, candidates are required to have a degree or professional qualification in the relevant field along with the prescribed experience. For the IT post, qualifications in computer science, information technology or a related subject are required, while the Agriculture Officer post requires a degree in agriculture or a related field. The posts of Chartered Accountant, Law, Treasury Manager and Marketing Officer require the relevant educational qualifications and experience.
For Officer Scale-III, candidates are required to have a graduation degree along with the prescribed period of officer-level experience in a banking or financial institution. The candidate's qualification and the result of the relevant examination must have been declared by September 21, 2026.
The age limit for IBPS RRB Recruitment varies by post. The age limit is 18 to 28 years for Office Assistant, 18 to 30 years for Officer Scale-I, 21 to 32 years for Officer Scale-II and 21 to 40 years for Officer Scale-III. Age will be calculated as of September 1, 2026.
Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per government rules. SC and ST candidates are eligible for five years of relaxation, while OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are eligible for three years of relaxation. Additional relaxation will apply to candidates with disabilities as per the prescribed rules.
The application fee varies according to the candidate category. The fee is Rs 175 for SC, ST, persons with disabilities and eligible ex-servicemen candidates applying for the Office Assistant post. All other candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 850. The fee will be paid through online mode.
