IMD Weather Alert: Rain and Strong Winds Forecast in 25 States on August 25

The IMD has forecast rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across 25 states and union territories on August 25, with winds reaching up to 75 kmph in some areas and heavy to very heavy rainfall possible in several regions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for August 25, forecasting rain accompanied by b winds across 25 states and union territories. Winds of up to 75 kmph may occur in some areas over the next 24 hours.

According to the IMD forecast, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands may experience rain and b winds on August 25.

Some areas may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, while thunderstorms and b winds are also expected in several places. Local administrations have advised people to follow official advisories in view of the weather conditions.

The IMD said a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas may increase rainfall activity. The system may move northwestward over the next 24 hours through north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic plains.

Heavy rainfall is likely in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, while Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya may also experience periods of heavy rain.

A low-pressure area developing around eastern Madhya Pradesh may increase rainfall activity over eastern Madhya Pradesh and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible at some places.

Sea conditions are expected to remain rough to very rough over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central areas. Strong winds and high waves may also occur around the coasts of West Bengal, Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh.

The weather department has advised fishermen to avoid entering these sea areas on August 25. Those already at sea have also been advised to follow instructions issued by the local administration and weather department.

Delhi is likely to receive rain and b winds on August 25. According to the weather forecast, wind speeds in the capital may reach up to 60 kmph.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain around 28 degrees Celsius. Some areas may experience waterlogging and disruption to traffic during rainfall.

Several parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience adverse weather conditions. A heavy rainfall alert has been reported for Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Mathura, Kanpur, Jhansi, Etawah, Sonbhadra, Bijnor, Lalitpur, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad.

Lucknow is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 31 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius on August 25.

In Bihar, stormy rainfall is possible in Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Purnia, Begusarai, Vaishali, Jehanabad, Siwan, Darbhanga and Buxar, among several other districts. Wind speeds may reach up to 50 kmph in some areas.

Patna is expected to record a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.

In Madhya Pradesh, rain and b winds are likely in Narsinghpur, Ujjain, Dhar, Datia, Khandwa, Mandla, Ratlam, Alirajpur, Seoni, Narmadapuram, Shivpuri, Sidhi and Khargone. Wind speeds may remain between 45 and 50 kmph.

Several areas of Rajasthan, including Sri Ganganagar, Pali, Karauli, Baran, Deeg, Churu, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Balotra, Kota, Rajsamand, Hanumangarh, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Udaipur and Bikaner, may experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Wind speeds in these areas may reach 45 to 50 kmph. Jaipur is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius.
