Pakistan: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has leveled serious allegations directly against Army Chief General Asim Munir. Imran Khan says that Asim Munir is hungry for power and is trying to crush democracy in the country and impose dictatorship.
Imran Khan's Direct Message: "I Will Not Bow Down"
Imprisoned Imran Khan sent a direct message to Asim Munir via social media. He said that no matter how much pressure is put on him, or his family members are imprisoned, he will never bow down. Imran Khan clearly stated that he will continue the struggle for true freedom in Pakistan at all costs.
Accusation of Crushing Democracy
Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for about two years, alleges that Asim Munir has shaken the foundations of democracy in Pakistan. He said that the current situation is not characteristic of a democratic system but rather represents the dictatorship of one individual. Imran Khan says that General Munir is also disregarding morality and Islamic values.
Asim Munir Held Responsible for May 9 Violence
Regarding the violence that occurred in Pakistan on May 9, 2023, Imran Khan has also made serious allegations against Asim Munir. He says that the entire incident was Munir's conspiracy. He alleged that Munir himself planned the May 9 incident and later had the CCTV footage disappeared. Now he is using the same incident as his 'insurance policy' to maintain control over the government.
Accusation of Dictatorship and Sarcasm on American Invitation
Imran Khan also said that in the current situation, all the power in Pakistan is in the hands of one individual. He sarcastically remarked that this is the reason why American President Donald Trump invited Asim Munir and not Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Imran says that democratic institutions in Pakistan have no role left.
Imran Khan's Condition in Jail
Imran Khan also mentioned his condition in jail. He said that he has only been allowed to meet three times in the last three months. He is not allowed to meet with lawyers and family either. He says that all this is an attempt to create mental pressure.
Allegation of Putting Pressure on Family Too
Imran Khan stated that even his relatives who are not involved in politics have been kidnapped in order to put more pressure on him. He said that his wife, Bushra Begum, has also been kept in solitary confinement for the last eight months and is being pressured to separate from Imran. Imran said that despite all the difficulties, Bushra is standing firmly with him.
