India's Golden Boy of athletics, Neeraj Chopra, will once again take to the field in the Diamond League Final on Thursday night. In this final, held in Zurich, Switzerland, Neeraj Chopra will compete against the world's top javelin throwers and try to seize the trophy.

Sports News: Two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra will be looking to replicate his season's best 90m performance at the Diamond League Final on Thursday, aiming to clinch the trophy. Of the 14 league stages of this season's Diamond League, the men's javelin throw event was included in only four stages, of which Chopra participated in only two. Despite this, he scored 15 points and qualified for the final in fourth place.

Neeraj Chopra's Excellent Preparation

Two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra has demonstrated his potential brilliantly this season. He thrilled fans this year by throwing 90.23 meters in Doha. After that, he won the Paris stage on June 20 with a throw of 88.16 meters. Neeraj has consistently performed brilliantly this season and is one of only three players to cross the 90-meter mark.

Neeraj Chopra's last tournament was the NC Classic in Bengaluru on July 5, where he won with a throw of 86.18 meters. He has worked hard with coach and great athlete Jan Zelezny to improve his technique.

Diamond League Final 2025: Neeraj vs. Julian Weber and Anderson Peters

The Diamond League Final is held every year, and the players included qualify based on their best performance of that season. There are a total of 32 events in both the men's and women's categories. The final lasts for two days, and the winner of each event receives a DL trophy along with prize money ranging from $30,000 to $50,000 USD and a wild card for the upcoming World Championships.

Neeraj Chopra will try to repeat his 2022 trophy win in this final. He was the runner-up in 2023, while in 2024 he finished second after Peterson. The men's javelin throw event is going to be very exciting in this final. Neeraj Chopra will face Germany's Julian Weber and Grenada's Anderson Peters.

Julian Weber achieved his season's best throw of 91.06 meters on May 16 in Doha. Anderson Peters, a two-time world champion, has a best throw of 85.64 meters this year. However, his performance has not been stable in recent times. Julius Yego of Kenya, Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, and Andrian Mardare of Moldova are also competing. Simon Wieland of Switzerland has been included in the final as the host country's representative.
