India Invites 10,000 Special Guests to Republic Day 2026 Parade at Kartavya Path

India will mark its 77th Republic Day in 2026 with the parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, where the government has invited around 10,000 special guests from diverse social and professional backgrounds to attend the national celebration.

India is marking its 77th Republic Day this year, and the government has taken an unprecedented step to make the parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi more distinctive by inviting approximately 10,000 special guests from across the country.

The invited guests for Republic Day 2026 have been selected from a wide range of social and professional backgrounds. They include social workers, teachers, scientists, artists, sportspersons, young entrepreneurs, and citizens who have contributed to innovation and other fields. The initiative aims to recognise citizens who have made notable contributions to national development and social progress.

The presence of the special guests is expected to add to the stature of the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path. The initiative is intended to acknowledge the contributions of ordinary citizens and provide recognition to individuals who have played a role in the country’s development.

Republic Day is celebrated every year on January 26. On this date in 1950, the Constitution of India came into force, marking India’s transition into a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic. The parade at Kartavya Path traditionally showcases the country’s military strength, cultural diversity, achievements in science and technology, and accomplishments in sports.

The Republic Day parade marking the 77th Republic Day will be witnessed by the 10,000 special guests. According to the government, this is the first time that such a large number of citizens with notable contributions have been formally invited to attend the parade.

During the parade, contingents of the armed forces, paratroopers, and various military and civilian units will take part. State-wise cultural tableaux, along with displays related to modern technology and science, will also be presented at Kartavya Path. Arrangements have been made for organised seating and comprehensive security for the special guests.

The government has stated that the presence of the special guests will enhance the social and cultural significance of the parade. The initiative is intended to provide a platform to citizens who have served the nation through sustained contributions.
