New Zealand have announced their 16-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20 International series against India, which begins on October 22, 2026. Mitchell Santner will captain the side.
The New Zealand squad includes 13 members of the team that finished runners-up at this year’s T20 World Cup. All-rounder Michael Bracewell and fast bowler Adam Milne have returned after recovering from injuries. Rachin Ravindra and Ben Sears are unavailable for the series. According to New Zealand Cricket, Sears is still recovering from an ankle injury.
India will play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Test matches during the tour. New Zealand Cricket announced the T20I squad on Wednesday.
Rachin Ravindra has been ruled out of the T20I series after suffering an injury to his right shoulder during a promotional shoot in Auckland on September 16. Medical examinations found no major structural damage, but he has not been included in the squad against India considering his rehabilitation.
In Ravindra’s absence, New Zealand have retained batting and all-round options in the squad. Young batter Bevon Jacobs has also been included in the 16-member team. He has played 11 T20 Internationals and scored an unbeaten 62 in his previous T20I against Bangladesh.
Fast bowler Adam Milne has returned to New Zealand’s T20I squad after a prolonged absence. He was unable to feature in this year’s T20 World Cup because of injury but is now available for the home series against India.
Milne is part of New Zealand’s pace-bowling unit alongside Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes and Nathan Smith.
Santner’s squad also includes experienced players such as Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips. Tim Seifert has been included as the wicketkeeping option.
The first T20I between India and New Zealand will be played on October 22 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The second T20I will also take place in Christchurch on October 24. The third match is scheduled for October 27 in Wellington, followed by the fourth T20I in Auckland on October 30 and the fifth and final match in Hamilton on November 1.
The five-match ODI series will follow the T20Is, with the first ODI scheduled for November 4 in Auckland. The tour will then include two Test matches. According to New Zealand Cricket’s schedule, India’s tour will comprise a total of 12 international matches.
