Indian Batters Dominate ICC ODI Rankings, Gill and Rohit Lead the Way

Indian players continue to dominate the latest ICC batting rankings. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma remain at the top of the list, while Virat Kohli holds the fourth position.

Sports News: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ODI Batting Rankings (ICC ODI Batting Rankings 2025), which continue to be dominated by Indian batsmen. Young sensation Shubman Gill and experienced captain Rohit Sharma remain in the first and second positions respectively in the batting list. Meanwhile, former captain and veteran batsman Virat Kohli remains in fourth place. Pakistan's Babar Azam (739 points) is in third place, clearly showing the dominance of three Indian batsmen in the top four.

Gill and Rohit Maintain Their Reign

In the latest ICC rankings, Shubman Gill is in first place with 784 rating points. Gill, who has been in excellent form for the past year, has achieved this feat through his consistency and b performance. On the other hand, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in second place with 756 points. Rohit recently batted brilliantly in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and played a key role in helping India win the title.

Virat Kohli (736 points) is at number four. Although Kohli has retired from Test and T20 cricket, he is still the backbone of the Indian batting in the ODI format.

Four Indian Batsmen in Top-10

According to the latest rankings, four Indian batsmen are included in the Top-10. Gill (1), Rohit (2), Kohli (4) and Shreyas Iyer (8th position with 704 points) reflect the depth and strength of Indian batting. The list of Top-10 batsmen is as follows:

  • Shubman Gill – 784 points
  • Rohit Sharma – 756 points
  • Babar Azam – 739 points
  • Virat Kohli – 736 points
  • Daryl Mitchell – 720 points
  • Charith Asalanka – 719 points
  • Harry Tector – 708 points
  • Shreyas Iyer – 704 points
  • Sai Hope – 699 points
  • Ibrahim Zadran – 676 points

India Shines in Bowling Too

Not only in batting, but Indian players continue to dominate the bowling rankings as well. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav remains in third place with 650 points. Meanwhile, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is in ninth place with 616 points. Although the Indian team has not played many ODI matches in the last few months, the individual rankings of the players remain stable.

In the third and final ODI played against South Africa in Mackay, Australia put up a record performance, scoring a massive 431 runs for 2 wickets. During this, three of its batsmen scored centuries —

  • Travis Head (142 runs)
  • Mitchell Marsh (100 runs)
  • Cameron Green (118 not out)

Due to these brilliant innings, all three batsmen benefited in the rankings. Head has now moved up to 11th position with a jump of one place. Marsh has moved up four places to reach 44th position, while Green has jumped 40 places to take 78th position.
