Indian stock market expected to open higher as GIFT Nifty gains around 170 points amid strong global cues

Nifty trading around 170 points higher amid firm global market cues and a sharp decline in crude oil prices. Investors are also tracking the RBI's monetary policy announcement and quarterly earnings from several listed companies.

Indian equity markets are expected to open on a positive note on Wednesday, supported by firm global market cues and a sharp decline in crude oil prices. Market participants are closely tracking international developments, while lower energy prices are expected to support investor sentiment.

According to early market indicators, GIFT Nifty was trading around 170 points higher, indicating a b opening for the domestic equity market. Positive trends across Asian and US markets have also reinforced investor sentiment.

Brent crude oil prices declined sharply during the latest trading session, falling below the key level of $80 per barrel to around $78 per barrel. Brent crude dropped by more than 5 percent in a single trading session.

India is one of the world's largest importers of crude oil. Lower oil prices could reduce the country's import bill, ease inflationary pressures, and increase the likelihood of lower operating costs for companies. Investors generally view declining energy prices as a positive signal for equity markets.

Global market sentiment remained positive during the previous trading session. US equity markets posted solid gains, while US futures were also trading higher, indicating improved risk appetite among global investors.

In Asia, Japan's Nikkei Index was trading significantly higher. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index and China's Shanghai Composite Index were also trading in positive territory. The strength across Asian markets may provide a supportive backdrop for Indian equities.

Alongside global developments, investors are closely monitoring the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) monetary policy announcement, which could play an important role in determining market direction.

According to market experts, the RBI may avoid making any major changes to key interest rates under the current economic conditions. If the central bank keeps policy rates unchanged, it could provide a balanced and predictable environment for the market. Investors will also closely watch the RBI's comments on inflation, economic growth, and liquidity.

Several stocks are expected to remain in focus due to quarterly earnings announcements and corporate updates. Companies from the telecommunications, energy, consumer goods, jewellery, healthcare, and financial services sectors may witness increased trading activity.

Stocks likely to remain on investors' radar include Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Nykaa, Marico, Kalyan Jewellers, United Breweries, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), Sheela Foam, BSE, Metropolis Healthcare, Deepak Nitrite, Sanofi India, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), and Manipal Health Enterprises.

In addition, Power Grid Corporation, Policybazaar, Navin Fluorine International, and HT Media are scheduled to announce their financial results. Investor activity in the respective sectors may increase based on these companies' performance.
