Indian equity benchmarks opened higher on Friday, with the Sensex rising over 150 points and the Nifty gaining more than 50 points in early trade amid positive global market cues, broad-based buying, and investor focus on quarterly corporate earnings announcements.

Indian equity benchmarks opened higher on Friday, supported by positive cues from global markets and broad-based buying in early trade. Investor activity lifted key indices on the final trading day of the week, with gains seen across sectors.

In early trade, the BSE Sensex rose more than 150 points to around 76,026, while the NSE Nifty advanced over 50 points to trade near 23,957. Market participants remained focused on global economic signals and quarterly corporate earnings announcements.

According to market experts, strength in US and Asian markets, foreign investor activity, and buying in the information technology sector supported domestic equities. Strong buying by domestic institutional investors and retail traders also contributed to market momentum.

The market’s advance-decline ratio remained positive during the session. In early trade, approximately 1,483 stocks advanced, while around 1,107 declined. A total of 212 stocks remained unchanged, indicating broad-based buying activity across the market.

Information technology stocks led gains in Friday’s trading session, with buying interest seen in major companies including Wipro, Infosys, HCLTech, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Reliance Industries. Market participants attributed the gains in the IT sector to improvement in global technology markets and positive signals from US markets.

Despite broader market gains, profit booking pressure was visible in some stocks. Shares of Bajaj Auto, ONGC, Adani Ports, Coal India, and Eternal registered declines during early trade. Experts said some investors booked profits in these counters following recent gains.

The trading session is also being closely watched for quarterly earnings announcements from several companies, which may influence market direction during the day. Companies scheduled to report results include InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Aegis Logistics, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar, BEML, Glenmark Pharma, Gujarat Gas, Ipca Laboratories, Inox Wind, Natco Pharma, and Olectra Greentech. Investors and analysts are monitoring these financial results for sector-related developments.
