Nalanda municipal authorities have issued settlement tenders for eight revenue-linked sairats, including the Kargil Bus Stand, with the third round of open bidding scheduled for June 15. The municipal administration has stated that individuals with outstanding dues will not be permitted to participate in the bidding process.
According to a notice issued by the Municipal Council, open bidding will be conducted for the settlement of the Kargil Bus Stand, market fees, parking facilities and other revenue-related sairats. The administration expects competitive participation and improved municipal revenue through the process.
Municipal Council officials said the bidding process had previously been conducted twice, but satisfactory bids were not received for some sairats. As a result, a third round of open bidding is being organised.
Officials said efforts are being made to ensure complete transparency in the process. All participants will be required to appear with necessary documents, identification proof and security deposits. Individuals with pending municipal dues will not be allowed to participate under any circumstances.
The Kargil Bus Stand is considered a key bus transit point in the city, handling the movement of a large number of passengers daily. The Municipal Council receives annual income from the settlement of the bus stand, making it a point of interest among contractors.
Municipal Council officials said a strict approach has been adopted against defaulters. Individuals who failed to make timely payments under previous settlements or violated rules will be excluded from this bidding process. The administration said this would improve revenue recovery and maintain discipline.
According to guidelines issued by the Bihar Urban Development Department, the settlement process for all sairats will be conducted under prescribed rules. Officials said no irregularities would be tolerated.
Traders and local residents are also closely watching the bidding process. Some residents said the entry of new contractors could improve management at the bus stand and other sairats. Demands have also been raised for improvements in cleanliness, parking and passenger facilities.
The tender process is also being discussed in commercial areas around Bihar Sharif, with several existing and new contractors preparing to participate in the bidding.
The Municipal Council administration has urged participants to complete application procedures on time and comply with all rules. Officials said applications with incomplete documentation or pending dues would not be accepted.
Meanwhile, the municipal body has begun reviewing income from the related sairats and revenue figures from previous years. The administration said proper settlement of the sairats could increase Municipal Council revenue.
The Municipal Council said the entire open bidding process scheduled for June 15 will be videographed to maintain transparency. Police personnel will also be deployed for security arrangements.
