Indian equity markets opened higher on Thursday, supported by positive global cues and softer crude oil prices. In early trade, the BSE Sensex opened 414 points higher at 75,732, while the Nifty 50 traded around 23,830, up 171 points.
The BSE Sensex crossed the 75,000 level in early trading, while the NSE Nifty opened with gains. Buying interest was seen in banking, IT, auto and metal stocks, providing broad-based support to the market.
According to market experts, expectations of easing international geopolitical tensions and gains across Asian markets strengthened market sentiment.
A decline in global crude oil prices was cited as a key factor supporting market gains. US President Donald Trump said peace talks between the United States and Iran had reached the final stage. Following the statement, international crude oil prices declined by nearly 5%.

Brent crude prices fell to around $105 per barrel, raising expectations of relief for energy-import dependent countries, particularly India. Analysts said softer crude oil prices could reduce pressure on India’s current account deficit and inflation.
Asian markets also supported domestic sentiment. Major equity indices in Japan, South Korea and Australia recorded gains on Thursday. Japan’s Nikkei index rose more than 1%, South Korea’s Kospi traded with gains, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 also advanced by more than 1% in early trade.
