A contaminated water tragedy in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has intensified political and administrative activity. On Friday, January 2nd, youth Congress workers staged a b demonstration in front of the Indore Municipal Corporation headquarters. During the protest, serious allegations were leveled against the administration's negligence and the ruling BJP.

On Friday, January 2nd, the Youth Congress held a b demonstration in front of the Municipal Corporation headquarters. Seeing the increasing tension, the police detained 21 protesters as a precaution, including 3 women.
Increased Outrage Over the Bhagirathpura Tragedy
The protesting youth Congress workers state that the contaminated water tragedy in the Bhagirathpura area of the city is a result of gross negligence and corruption by the administration. They allege that if complaints had been addressed in a timely manner, lives would not have been lost. They accused the administration and the municipal corporation of serious negligence, stating that public safety should be paramount.
The protestors demanded that a compensation of one crore rupees be given to the families of those who died in this tragedy. They also demanded the immediate resignation of Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. The protestors also stated that a criminal case should be registered against the responsible officials.

Protest Expressed by Ringing a Bell
Youth Congress workers brought a bell with them and rang it to symbolically protest against the contaminated water tragedy. According to eyewitnesses, a police officer seized the bell and took it to the nearby MG Road police station during this time. The workers then protested, accusing the police of confiscating the bell and raised slogans. A video of the entire incident is rapidly going viral on social media.
Deputy Police Commissioner Rajesh Vyas stated that some workers became aggressive during the demonstration. “21 people were detained as a precaution to maintain security and law and order,” he said. The police took this step to avoid crowds and potential violence.
