Injeti Srinivas's Experience

Injeti Srinivas is a 1983 batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre. He previously served as the founding Chairman of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). Additionally, he has made significant contributions to national service as the Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Srinivas has over four decades of experience in corporate and financial regulation, industrial promotion, company and insolvency law, competition law, chartered accountancy, cost accounting, company secretary law, public policy, and international cooperation.

In its statement, the NSE board stated that Srinivas's experience and expertise will play a crucial role in strengthening the stock market's operations and institutional reforms.

Contribution at IFSCA

From 2020 to 2023, Srinivas served as the founding Chairman of IFSCA. During this period, he established India's first international financial regulator. He promoted new initiatives in global banking, fintech, sustainable finance, the fund ecosystem, SGX-NSE IFSC Connect, the Bullion Exchange, aircraft leasing, GCC, and related services. Under his leadership, IFSCA strengthened India's financial regulatory framework at a global level.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Injeti Srinivas holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He subsequently obtained an MBA from Strathclyde Graduate Business School, UK. His career reflects a unique blend of policy leadership, regulatory innovation, and international engagement.

The position of Chairman at NSE had been vacant for two years. The exchange is currently in the process of preparing for its IPO. The appointment of the new Chairman will assist NSE in strengthening its operations and enhancing the confidence of global investors.
