The groundbreaking ceremony for the 890-crore project to redevelop the Janki Temple in Sitamarhi took place. Amit Shah described it as the beginning of Bihar's development and accused Rahul Gandhi of vote bank politics.
Bihar: Amidst the anticipation of the Bihar Assembly elections, Sitamarhi witnessed a confluence of religious and political activities. Union Home Minister Amit Shah performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the ambitious 890 crore rupee project for the redevelopment of Mata Janki Temple. On the same occasion, he flagged off the Sitamarhi-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express and unveiled the new design of the temple.
While this event marked the beginning of a major step towards the religious and cultural revival of Bihar, Amit Shah also vehemently attacked the opposition, especially Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, from the stage.
Janki Temple to Become the Pride Center of Mithila
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Amit Shah said that this is not just a temple, but the beginning of the fortune of Mithilanchal and the entire Bihar. He said that this temple will not only be a center of faith for the devotees, but this area will also find a prominent place on the map of education, culture and tourism.
He informed that under this scheme, Rs 137 crore will be spent on the renovation of the temple, while the entire project will be of Rs 890 crore. Shah said that the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi got the Ram temple built in Ayodhya, in the same spirit, the identity of Mithila is also being re-established.
Sharp Retort to Rahul Gandhi
During his speech, Amit Shah took Rahul Gandhi to task and said, "Rahul Gandhi has now started counting the reasons for the defeat in the Bihar elections. These are the same people who do vote bank politics in every election."
He said that the opposition's protest regarding SIR (revised voter identification process) is only because they are afraid of losing their traditional vote bank. Shah questioned, "Is it wrong to remove infiltrators from the voter list? Shouldn't SIR be implemented?"
While directly interacting with the public, he said that Congress and RJD only want to save the external infiltrators who are snatching the jobs of the youth of Bihar.
Mention of the Achievements of the NDA Government
Amit Shah said that today the security of India is in the hands of a b leadership. Giving the example of Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, he explained how the Modi government is taking strict action against terrorism.
Taunting the Congress, he said that during their regime, after the terrorist attack, the criminals used to escape to Pakistan, but today's government brings them to their end. He described the opposition to Operation Sindoor in Parliament by Lalu Yadav and his associates as unfortunate.
Investment in Rail and Infrastructure in Bihar
Regarding the Rail Budget, Shah said that when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister, Bihar used to get Rs 1132 crore. Today, the Modi government has made a provision to spend Rs 10066 crore on rail development alone in 2025-26. Thanking Prime Minister Modi and the Railway Minister for this, he said that now Bihar is getting its developmental right.
Emotional Address by Nitish Kumar
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was present on the stage, also addressed the public. He said that before 2005, the condition of Bihar was very bad, people were afraid to leave their houses as soon as evening fell. He said, "We provided electricity to every house, laid a network of roads and now preparations are on to provide free electricity to everyone soon." Thanking Amit Shah, Nitish said that the Janki temple project will give a new identity to the Mithila region and it will become a major center of religious tourism.
