July 2026 has begun with the implementation of several financial and administrative changes across India that are set to affect consumers, businesses, travellers, taxpayers and other sections of the public. The new provisions cover LPG prices, fuel, Aadhaar services, credit cards, passports, railways, income tax returns and crop insurance.
The price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by up to ₹183.50. Under the revised rates, the cylinder that was previously priced at ₹3,113.50 will now cost around ₹2,930. There has been no change in the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder. The reduction is expected to benefit hotels, restaurants, catering services and small businesses.
Following softer crude oil prices in the international market, private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has reduced fuel prices. Petrol prices have been cut by ₹5 per litre, while diesel prices have been reduced by ₹3 per litre. The revised rates currently apply at Nayara Energy outlets.
The government has withdrawn the temporary fuel purchase limit at petrol pumps operated by public sector oil marketing companies. During geopolitical tensions in West Asia, a limit of 200 litres of diesel per vehicle per day had been introduced to ensure fuel availability and prevent hoarding. The restriction has now been removed following the normalisation of supplies.
