Srinagar Encounter: On Sunday, a fierce encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar's Keshwan area. Terrorists suddenly opened fire, to which the personnel immediately retaliated. Following the gunfire, security forces launched a search and operation throughout the area. Senior officials are continuously monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, search operations are also underway in the Seojdhar forest of Udhampur.

Deployment of Additional Forces

Additional forces have been dispatched to the encounter site. Drones are also being used in the search operation to locate hideouts of terrorists. Security forces are keeping a close watch on the possible presence of terrorists in Kishtwar's Nagseni, Keshwan, and Chhatru areas. This region has previously been a hub for terrorist activities, with several attacks on security forces.

Operation Continues in Udhampur's Seojdhar Forest

Meanwhile, a search operation is ongoing in Udhampur's Seojdhar forest. An encounter took place in the same area last Saturday, in which soldiers were martyred. Security forces are exercising vigilance in the area to curb terrorist activities and minimize the possibility of potential attacks.

Message from Security Forces

The Army posted on X (formerly Twitter) that intelligence input was received at 1 PM about terrorists hiding in the Keshwan area. As the search operation began, terrorists opened fire. Security forces retaliated, forcing the terrorists to flee. No casualties among security personnel were reported. SSP Naresh Singh stated that there was indiscriminate firing from the terrorists' side, but no damage occurred.

Arms and Ammunition Recovered in Handwara

Security forces have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition in Handwara. Police, Army, and CRPF conducted this operation based on concrete intelligence. The recovered weapons include a Turkish-made 9mm pistol, two magazines, two Chinese 7.62mm pistols, two Chinese pistol magazines, 14 rounds, eight Chinese hand grenades, one AK magazine, and 40 rounds.
