Congress In-charge Kumari Selja Arrives in Uttarakhand, Focuses on 2027 Assembly Election Preparedness

Congress's State In-charge Kumari Selja arrived in Uttarakhand today, August 27, 2025, after a gap of about a year and a half. Her visit is considered very important with the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections in mind.

Dehradun: Indian National Congress's Uttarakhand State In-charge Kumari Selja arrived in Uttarakhand on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. This is her first visit to the state after approximately a year and a half. All leaders of the Uttarakhand Congress were present to welcome her in Dehradun, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm within the party. During her visit, Kumari Selja held a meeting with senior party leaders and MLAs at the Congress headquarters.

In this meeting, she discussed organizational activities and upcoming programs in detail. Her visit after a gap of eighteen months infused new energy and enthusiasm among party workers.

Strategic Meeting of Kumari Selja with Party Leaders

At the Congress headquarters in Dehradun, Kumari Selja first met with senior party leaders and MLAs. During this time, she discussed the current state of the organization, upcoming programs, and electoral strategy in detail. State President Karan Mahra, Co-in-charge Surendra Sharma, Pragat Singh, and many other senior leaders were present at the meeting. Kumari Selja emphasized the need to strengthen the Congress organization at the grassroots level so that the party can contest the 2027 elections with full strength.

In a conversation with the media, Kumari Selja informed that the Congress organization has launched the 'Srijan Program', under which observers have been appointed at the district level. These observers will be responsible for monitoring party activities and activating workers. She stated that through this program, Congress aims to build a b organizational structure in every district and make workers more vocal on public issues.

Focus on the 2027 Assembly Elections

During her visit, Kumari Selja, while filling workers with enthusiasm, said that Congress's objective is to form the government in Uttarakhand in 2027. She called upon the workers to go to the public and expose the current government's policies of corruption, unemployment, and anti-development. She added, "Congress workers are the backbone of the party. If every worker works diligently among the public, Congress will definitely form the government in Uttarakhand in 2027."

It is noteworthy that in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections 2024, the BJP registered victories in all five seats of Uttarakhand. This was a major setback for Congress. In such a scenario, the party wants to be fully prepared before the 2027 Assembly elections and does not want to leave any stone unturned. Kumari Selja's visit is significant in this context. Congress leadership understands that if workers do not enter election mode from now itself, the results in 2027 could be impacted.
