New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has granted significant relief to Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in the 'Land for Job' case (Land for Job CBI Case). The court has currently postponed the order on framing charges against the accused and has asked the CBI to confirm their status. The court stated that some of the accused have passed away, making it necessary to clarify their status. The next hearing in the case will be on December 8.
Who are the accused in the case?
In this case, several members of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's family are accused, along with him. These include former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, MP Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav. The court has sought a status report from the CBI regarding the current status of all accused, so that the court has accurate information in cases of any deceased or absent individuals.
Why did the court postpone the order?
The Rouse Avenue Court stated that the main reason for postponing this order is that some of the accused have passed away during the course of the case. The CBI had named a total of 103 people as accused in this case, four of whom have since died. Therefore, the court directed the investigating agency to verify the current status of each accused and file a detailed report. The court stated that it is essential to ensure that the information regarding all accused is correct and complete before framing charges.
