LG Manoj Sinha Declares Purmandal-Uttarwahini a World-Class Spiritual Heritage Site, Pledges Major Development for J&K

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Wednesday (November 19), participated in the Foundation Day ceremony of the Purmandal-Uttarwahini Teerth Seva Trust, declaring the region a significant spiritual heritage.

Srinagar: The Purmandal–Uttarwahini ceremony, held on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir, proved to be a confluence of spiritual faith, cultural grandeur, and developmental resolve. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the event as the chief guest, and after offering prayers at the ancient Shiva temple in Purmandal, he also participated in the Devika Maha Aarti in the evening. On this occasion, he made several important announcements regarding the new direction, security, and development of Jammu and Kashmir.

Homage to the Sacrifice of Soldiers — "Their Martyrdom Will Not Go in Vain"

In his address, LG Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the policemen, soldiers, farmers, youth, and citizens who sacrificed their lives for the security and progress of Jammu and Kashmir. He stated:

'The new identity of Jammu and Kashmir will be defined by peace, development, and self-reliance. We will never let the sacrifices of our soldiers and citizens go in vain. It is our duty to fulfill their wishes and dreams.'

His statement is considered a message that strengthens the morale of the security forces and common citizens.

Announcement to Develop Purmandal-Uttarwahini as a World-Class Spiritual Site

LG Sinha described the Purmandal–Uttarwahini region as a symbol of Jammu and Kashmir's cultural diversity and spiritual energy, stating that the area will be developed at an international level. He added that this place is not only religiously significant but also a center for social unity, harmony, and spiritual purity.

During the program, the Teerth Seva Trust put forth several important demands related to the region's development, regarding which the Lieutenant Governor assured positive consideration on all issues.

Emphasis on a New Vedic School and Preservation of Religious Heritage

The Lieutenant Governor instructed the administration to:

  • Immediately identify suitable government land for a new Vedic school in the Purmandal region.
  • Request the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to provide financial assistance for the establishment of the school.
  • Ensure all concerned departments work in coordination for the preservation of religious and cultural heritage.

He also informed that in the last four years, the renovation of 62 ancient religious sites in Jammu and Kashmir has been completed, and this campaign will gain further momentum in the coming time.

Proposal for a 4-Lane Road — Major Convenience for Pilgrims

LG Manoj Sinha announced that the Central Government will be requested to connect Purmandal with a four-lane road. This will:

  • Provide easy and safe travel for pilgrims,
  • Promote religious tourism in the region.

The Lieutenant Governor appealed to society that every citizen must play an active role in preserving natural heritage and holy sites. He stated that with the cooperation of the common people, Jammu and Kashmir can be transformed into a global hub for peace, progress, and spiritual tourism.
