STF and police arrested Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Raees Khan in Bihar's Siwan district. During the raid, a country-made pistol, a bulletproof jacket, and other incriminating materials were recovered, marking a significant success for security agencies.
Siwan: In Bihar's Siwan district, police and the Special Task Force (STF) conducted a major joint raid on Sunday, leading to the arrest of LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Raees Khan. Three other individuals were also arrested in connection with this operation. During this intense action in Gyaspur village, police seized several incriminating items, including weapons, a bulletproof jacket, and vehicles.
STF and Police Conducted Raid in Gyaspur Village
STF and Siwan Police stated that they had received confidential information about criminal elements gathering and weapons being smuggled in Gyaspur village. According to DIG Nilesh Kumar, following the intelligence, a team of local police and STF, led by the DIG and Siwan SP Manoj Tiwari, initiated the raid in the morning.
The operation, which lasted approximately 6-7 hours, saw police cordon off the entire area. Villagers reported that police and STF teams suddenly entered the village and searched several houses. The operation was carried out in a thoroughly planned and systematic manner.
Raees Khan and 3 Associates Arrested
During the raid, along with LJP leader Raees Khan, Munna Khan, Aftab, and Shah Alam were also arrested. The team recovered a country-made pistol, narcotics, two walkie-talkies, ten mobile phones, a bulletproof jacket, six four-wheel vehicles, one bike, and two knives during the search.
SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari stated that the recovered items are quite serious and indicate criminal activities. He added that the weapons and vehicles found during the investigation so far have been confirmed to be linked to Raees Khan and his associates.
More than 52 Cases Registered Against Raees Khan
DIG Nilesh Kumar informed that Raees Khan already has more than 52 criminal cases registered against him. These include murder, threats, illegal possession of weapons, and other serious offenses. Police stated that his arrest is a major success for maintaining law and order in the region.
According to investigation reports from various police stations, Raees Khan's network extends across several districts. In recent months, he had challenged the law multiple times. Now, following this arrest, his gang activities and criminal operations may be curtailed.
