Lucknow’s flood situation remains severe as the Gomti River water level continues to rise. Water has entered several residential areas and temples, while six friends were swept away in Itaunja, leaving one dead.

Lucknow’s flood situation remains severe as the water level of the Gomti River continues to rise. The river’s water level has reportedly increased for the ninth consecutive day, affecting several areas of the city, including Faizullaganj, where water has entered homes and reached depths of 5 to 6 feet in some places.

A large number of families have been affected by the flooding, with many residents moving to safer locations after water entered their homes. Some families have locked their houses and left for safer places. However, some residents are reluctant to leave because of fears of theft from vacant homes during the flooding. As a result, some families continue to stay in their homes despite the rising water.

Relief and rescue operations are continuing in the flood-affected areas. People trapped inside their homes are being evacuated with the help of boats, while relief teams are working to move residents to safer locations.

The rising floodwater has also increased the risk of snakes and other creatures entering homes. Local residents said snakes and other animals have been entering houses, adding to the difficulties faced by affected families.

In Itौंजा, six friends were swept away in the b current amid the flooding. One person died in the incident, while five others were rescued safely.

Several religious sites in Lucknow have also been affected by the flooding. The Khatu Shyam Temple, Hanumant Dham and Chandrika Devi Temple premises have reported waterlogging.

Around 13 feet of water has reportedly accumulated in the sanctum sanctorum of the Lete Hanuman Temple, forcing the temple authorities to close the sanctum. The situation is reportedly occurring after around 20 years, when waterlogging had previously forced the sanctum to be closed.

The road leading to Chandrika Devi Temple has also been flooded. Shops around the temple premises have been closed because of the waterlogging, and the temple will remain closed until the water level recedes.

People affected by the flooding are sharing videos of their situation on social media and appealing to the administration for assistance. The administration and relief teams are continuing efforts to evacuate people from affected areas and provide necessary assistance.
