In Lucknow, several children sustained minor injuries in an early morning head-on collision between a school van and a speeding Fortuner car. The children were sent home safely after receiving treatment at the hospital.
On Friday morning in Lucknow's Mahanagar area, a school van and a Fortuner car were involved in a head-on collision. The children inside the van suffered minor injuries. No one sustained serious injuries, but the front of the school van was severely damaged. The Fortuner car also sustained damage to its front and rear sides. Following the incident, the police immediately arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
Accident Occurred Near Neera Nursing Home
The accident took place near Neera Nursing Home in Mahanagar at approximately 7 AM. Students from Mount Carmel College were traveling to school in the van when a speeding Fortuner car approached from the opposite direction and collided with the side of the van. Due to the impact, the school van suddenly veered in another direction, and its front part was completely crushed. Seven children were present in the van at the time of the incident.
Both the school van and the Fortuner car sustained damage, with the van's front part and windshield being broken. Meanwhile, the front and rear sides of the new Fortuner car were damaged.
Condition of Children and Driver After the Accident
Three to four children and the driver sustained minor injuries in the accident. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, and after preliminary treatment, all children were sent home safely. Doctors reported that all injuries were minor and posed no serious threat.
Man Singh, the owner of the school van, stated that the driver applied the brakes in time, which helped save the children from serious injuries. He added that the van's safety systems and the driver's alertness averted a major disaster in the accident.
Police Investigation Initiated
Following the accident, the police apprehended the Fortuner driver and are questioning him. It was reported that the Fortuner driver was also taking his children to school. He had purchased the new vehicle just two days prior, and its number plate had not yet been affixed. After the collision, the Fortuner car crashed into a pole nearby, and its front part remained stuck to the pole.
Mahanagar police stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and complete information is being gathered from both vehicle owners. Local residents and parents are concerned about the lack of road safety following the accident.
