Goa Nightclub Case: The devastating fire at Goa’s ‘Burch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub on the night of December 6th sent shockwaves across the country, resulting in the tragic loss of 25 lives and numerous severe injuries. Following the incident, club owners Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra went missing. Recently, significant news emerged indicating that both brothers have been taken into custody in Thailand.
Official confirmation of this is still pending. Reports suggest that Interpol issued a Blue Corner Notice against the Luthra brothers, leading to their apprehension in Thailand. Immediately after the incident, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs suspended the passports of the Luthra brothers.
Hearing on Transit Bail Application
On Wednesday, the Luthra brothers’ lawyer appeared in court to argue for the hearing of their transit anticipatory bail application, stating that their clients were in Thailand for a business meeting. The lawyer informed the court that neither Saurabh nor Gaurav Luthra bear any responsibility for the incident, directly or indirectly.

The lawyer further stated, “My other restaurants have been demolished. Officials and the media are pursuing me relentlessly.” This statement indicates that the Luthra brothers currently deny any legal culpability and assert that their trip was for legitimate business purposes.
Non-Bailable Warrant Issued Against Luthra Brothers
The Goa Police informed the court that a non-bailable warrant has been issued against the Luthra brothers. They stated that both fled immediately after the fire and failed to provide any information regarding their whereabouts. When police visited their homes on December 8th, their families refused to disclose any information about their location. Consequently, the court instructed the state government to file a response to the transit anticipatory bail application and clarify their position in the case.
Court Order
Additional Sessions Judge Vandana of the Rohini District Court is currently hearing the transit anticipatory bail application of the Luthra brothers. The court has sought a response from the state government and scheduled the next hearing for December 11, 2025.
This hearing will determine whether the Luthra brothers will be brought to India or remain in custody in Thailand. Immediately following the fire, both brothers booked tickets to Thailand and departed the country early the next morning.
