Election Process
Traditionally, the BJP selects its provincial president through consensus. However, the initial election process will still be conducted. Following the release of the nomination list, two days will be set for the election process. On the first day, there will be nomination, verification of names, and withdrawal of names. If only one candidate files a nomination, the election will be conducted through consensus. If more than one candidate enters the fray, voting and counting will take place on the second day.
This process also includes the election of members to the National Council. Representatives chosen from the province will also represent the state in the National Council. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and senior organizational leaders can play the role of proposers in the nomination of the provincial president.
Members chosen from the province in the National Council are proposers in the election of the National President. It is estimated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh may also be included in the National Council this time.
