On Anant Chaturdashi, Madhya Pradesh will witness the immersion of Ganesh idols along with religious events and tableau processions across major cities. Preparations for taking Ganesh idols to immersion sites have been completed in Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain and Gwalior, with large gatherings of devotees expected.
Anant Chaturdashi is the final major day of the Ganesh festival. Devotees perform rituals and prayers before taking Ganesh idols for immersion. In several cities, processions, tableaux and other religious programmes are also organised on the occasion.
The administration has made special arrangements for security and traffic management in view of the expected crowds. Police personnel have been deployed at immersion sites, major routes and event locations.
The tableau procession will be the main attraction of Anant Chaturdashi in Indore. Under the city’s 103-year-old tableau procession tradition, the event will begin on Friday evening. The tableaux will start moving along the designated route from 6 pm.
This year, the procession route in Indore will be more than 9 KM long. Tableaux from different institutions and organisations will participate in the procession. A large number of people are expected to reach different parts of the city to watch the event.
The tableau tradition has remained an important part of Anant Chaturdashi celebrations in Indore. Every year, large crowds remain in the city until late at night during the event. Akharas and traditional performances are also part of the procession.
In view of the long route and the expected presence of large crowds, the administration has made special security arrangements. Police have been deployed along the procession route, with arrangements for crowd management and traffic control.
Preparations have also been made in Bhopal for the immersion of Ganesh idols on Anant Chaturdashi. Devotees from different parts of the city will take the idols to designated immersion sites. The administration has made necessary arrangements keeping crowd movement and traffic in mind.
In Ujjain, the administration and police have also completed preparations for Ganesh idol immersion. Police personnel will be deployed at key locations to maintain security and arrangements during religious events.
The administration will maintain surveillance at rivers, ponds and other designated immersion sites in view of the possibility of increased crowds during immersion. Devotees are urged to immerse idols only at designated locations.
Preparations have also been made in Gwalior for the immersion of Ganesh idols on Anant Chaturdashi. Idols will be taken for immersion from various parts of the city. Police personnel have been deployed on major routes and at immersion sites to maintain security arrangements.
Police and administrative teams will remain active across major cities of the state to maintain law and order during Anant Chaturdashi events. Surveillance has been increased in crowded areas.
In Indore and other cities, large numbers of devotees are expected to gather during the processions and idol immersion. In view of this, additional police personnel have been deployed on major routes and at sensitive locations.
In Indore, the procession route of more than 9 KM could lead to increased traffic pressure in several areas. Police and administrative authorities have arrangements for crowd control and traffic management during the event.
Anant Chaturdashi will mark the conclusion of the Ganesh festival. Devotees across Madhya Pradesh will bid farewell to Lord Ganesha and immerse the idols with prayers for his return the following year.
