Madhya Pradesh Holds Special Cabinet Meeting to Mark 25 Years of Narendra Modi’s Public Life
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet held a special meeting on Monday to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life. Following the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed a press conference at the Chief Minister’s residence, discussing Modi’s political career, electoral success and the formation of a majority government in 2014.
Yadav said the decision to declare Narendra Modi the prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s subsequent formation of a government with a full majority were significant political developments.
During the press conference, Yadav referred to Modi’s political journey and electoral record. He claimed that Modi became chief minister as many times as he contested elections for the post of MLA and became prime minister as many times as he was elected as a Member of Parliament.

Deputy Chief Ministers Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda were also present at the press conference.
Yadav said a full-majority government was formed following the 1984 Lok Sabha elections, held after the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, amid a wave of public sympathy.
According to Yadav, the subsequent political environment increasingly came to be viewed as one in which running a government without coalition partners was difficult. He said there was also a perception at the time that the Bharatiya Janata Party could not form a government on its own.
Against this backdrop, Yadav described the decision to declare Narendra Modi the direct prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as a significant political step.
Yadav said the BJP’s formation of a government with a full majority after Modi was declared its prime ministerial candidate was another significant political development. He presented the outcome as a major change in the country’s political landscape.
Through the special Cabinet meeting and the subsequent press conference, the Madhya Pradesh government marked the completion of 25 years of Modi’s public life. Yadav’s remarks focused on Modi’s political career, electoral record and the BJP’s majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
