Bhind: A sensational and controversial incident occurred in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, involving a heated argument and an attempted physical assault by BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwah on the district Collector Sanjeev Shrivastava. This incident has become a topic of discussion at both administrative and political levels.
The MLA, along with his supporters, arrived at the Collector's residence and engaged in sloganeering and commotion, during which a sharp exchange took place between the two. The MLA allegedly called the Collector "the biggest thief" and tried to raise his hand, but security personnel present at the scene intervened and managed the situation.
MLA Entered Collector's Residence and Caused Dispute
According to sources, the dispute escalated when the MLA arrived at the Collector's residence with his supporters. The argument began at the doorstep as the Collector started to go inside. Following this, the MLA and his supporters entered the Collector's house behind him.
The MLA's supporters vigorously chanted slogans and caused a disturbance outside the Collector's residence. During this time, supporters began making videos, which the Collector objected to. In protest, the supporters became more agitated and issued threats such as "You don't know your limits." This entire incident presented a serious challenge for the Collector and administrative officials.
Dispute Over Fertilizer Distribution Escalated
The root of this dispute is said to be the scarcity in fertilizer distribution. The MLA alleged that farmers in the district are not receiving fertilizers uniformly. He stated that farmers wait in line day and night but still do not get sufficient fertilizer.
The MLA further accused the Collector and the district administration of being involved in corruption and profiting by selling fertilizers meant for farmers in the open market. This dispute has caused serious concern at the administrative level and has increased resentment among officials.
IAS Association Demands Strict Action
The Madhya Pradesh IAS Association issued a statement saying that obstructing government work and misbehaving with a Collector is a serious offense. The Association has announced its intention to meet with the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to demand action against the MLA.
Officials stated that immediate and strict action should be taken in such cases to prevent disruption of administrative functions and ensure the smooth operation of government services.
Several Criminal Cases Against MLA Kushwah
BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwah's name is already associated with several serious criminal cases. According to his affidavit for the 2023 Assembly elections, multiple cases are registered against him.
Cases have been filed against him under various sections, including obstructing a public servant from performing their duty, abduction, assault, rioting, and the SC-ST Act. He has also been sentenced to six months imprisonment in a case of obstructing a public servant from performing their duty, which is currently under appeal.
This fact has caused serious concern among the administration and the public that the misbehavior of such an individual with government officials poses a threat to law and order.
