Politics News: A controversy has erupted after a video surfaced showing a conversation between Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and a farmer in Kalaburagi, a flood-affected district in Karnataka. Based on this video, the BJP has accused Kharge of insulting the farmer.

What is the matter

The video shows Mallikarjun Kharge asking the farmer how many acres he had sown. The farmer replies, "Four acres." Following this, Kharge says, "I have 40 acres. Mine is worse than yours. You come and tell me. You can tell me, but mine is worse than yours."

Kharge further states, "Don't come here for publicity. I know about this. Moong, urad, and arhar, all the crops have been destroyed. At least you can bear it. We cannot bear it because my loss is huge. Go and ask Modi and Shah."

What BJP said

After the video surfaced, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its criticism of the Congress and Mallikarjun Kharge. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that the Congress is insulting farmers. He wrote, "The farmer who went to Kharge was told to leave and asked- stop coming to me for publicity. Why do Congress and Rahul Gandhi hate our farmers so much?"

Political controversy escalates

Following this incident, there was an uproar in political circles. The BJP termed it as a lack of sensitivity from the Congress towards farmers. Meanwhile, the Congress has not yet issued an official response in this matter.
