Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has attempted to soothe the disappointment of Donald Trump, who was upset over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. Machado dedicated her Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump, stating that he made significant efforts for peace and democracy worldwide.

Washington: The announcement of this year's 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has created a stir in global politics. Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has been awarded this prestigious prize, but at this historic moment, the most talked-about aspect is her dedication statement — as Machado dedicated her award to former US President Donald Trump.

While this move garnered gratitude and appreciation among Machado's supporters, political analysts worldwide interpreted it as an unexpected and symbolic political message.

Machado Says — This Award is Dedicated to Venezuela's Victims and Trump

After receiving the award, Maria Machado wrote in her social media post, "This award belongs to the struggling and suffering people of Venezuela. Additionally, I dedicate it to President Donald Trump, who provided decisive support in our democratic struggle. Today, more than ever, we see America, Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our allies."

Machado further stated that this award grants "global recognition to Venezuela's struggle for freedom." She also added in her statement that her goal is liberation from dictatorship and the restoration of democratic governance in her country.

Trump's Reaction: 'I Didn't Say 'Give it to Me''

Donald Trump immediately reacted to Maria Machado's dedication. In an interview, he stated, "The person who received the Nobel Prize called me today and said, 'I am accepting this in your honor because you are the true deserving one.' But I didn't say, 'Give it to me.' Perhaps she said that herself. I have been helping her, and I am happy because I have saved millions of lives."

Trump's statement, while indicating humility on one hand, also attempts to convey that his contributions to global peace should not have been overlooked.

White House Takes Aim at Nobel Committee

Just hours after Venezuelan opposition leader Machado received the Nobel Peace Prize, the White House launched a sharp attack on the Nobel Committee. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung wrote on social media, "The Nobel Committee has once again proven that they prioritize politics over peace. President Trump has consistently worked to end wars, broker peace agreements, and save lives. His heart is humanitarian."

This statement is considered part of the long-standing controversy in which Trump has repeatedly claimed to have made historic contributions to world peace and is therefore deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize.
