A case involving a couple from Indore who went for their honeymoon in Meghalaya has come to light. In this, the conspiracy to murder the husband, Raja Raghuwanshi, was hatched by his wife, Sonam Raghuwanshi. The Meghalaya Police has filed a 790-page charge sheet in court against a total of five accused, including Sonam.

The charge sheet names Raja's wife, Sonam Raghuwanshi, and her lover, Raj Kushwaha, along with three other friends, as accused. This case had shaken the entire nation, and now the charge sheet presented in court has brought to light the intricate aspects of the events.

Husband and Wife Went on Honeymoon

According to information, on May 26, 2025, a couple from Indore, Raja and Sonam Raghuwanshi, went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. They suddenly went missing. Following an immediate search, Raja's body was recovered from the forests of Meghalaya on June 2, 2025. A few days later, on June 8, 2025, Sonam was arrested from Ghazipur.

Details of the Accused in the Charge Sheet

The Meghalaya Police's charge sheet identifies Sonam as the main conspirator. Her lover, Raj Kushwaha, and his three friends—Vishal Singh Chauhan, Ashish Singh Rajput, and Anand Kumar—were involved in Raja's murder. The police had registered a case under sections 103(1) 238 A/61(2) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the charge sheet, "On May 21, 2025, Raja and Sonam arrived in Shillong from Madhya Pradesh and went to Sohra. On May 26, 2025, they suddenly went missing. A search operation was immediately launched to find them. On June 2, 2025, Raja's body was recovered from a deep gorge."

Police Possess Significant Evidence

The charge sheet also mentions that the police arrested the accused with several crucial pieces of evidence. Evidence against the accused has been gathered based on forensic examination and other technical evidence. Furthermore, the police are awaiting some more forensic reports. After these reports are received, charge sheets will also be filed against property dealer Shilom James, building owner Lokendra Tomar, and security guard Balbir Ahirwar. This highlights the complexity and network of the case.

The filing of this charge sheet by the Meghalaya Police in court is a significant step in the judicial process. The court will now hear the case against all these accused.
