Although MG Motor has not released any official statement regarding the price increase, market experts believe that the rise in production costs could be a major reason behind this decision.

If you want to buy the Windsor EV Essence Pro variant, but the increased price is bothering you, there's an alternative available. MG Motor is also offering its customers the option of BaaS, i.e., Battery as a Service model.
Customers who choose this option can get the same car for ₹13,31,000. That's a direct saving of ₹4,18,000.
However, in this model, the customer does not get ownership of the battery. Instead, they will have to pay a charge of ₹4.50 per kilometer driven.
What is the BaaS Model and How Does it Work?
The BaaS model can prove to be beneficial for customers who use the car for shorter distances. In this, the customer does not have to pay the full price of the battery at the time of purchasing the car.
The company leases the battery and the customer has to pay according to the usage.
