New Delhi: Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Italy, marking another significant step in strengthening the relationship between India and Italy. Prime Minister Modi has accepted the invitation. This information was shared by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani following a meeting with Prime Minister Modi in Delhi.
According to Tajani, PM Modi’s visit is scheduled for 2026. While the exact dates are yet to be finalized, this trip is being viewed as an indication of the growing political, economic, and industrial cooperation between India and Italy.
Significant Meeting Held in Delhi
Antonio Tajani stated that the meeting with PM Modi in Delhi was extremely positive and productive. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed several important issues, including:
- Strengthening the relationship between India and Italy
- Cooperation on the IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor)
- Industrial cooperation and trade partnerships
- Issues related to global peace and security
Tajani also noted that India’s role has been crucial in finding a solution to the Ukraine conflict. Due to India’s mediation and diplomatic efforts, both countries discussed issues related to world peace and regional stability.

During the occasion, PM Modi and Italian representatives emphasized the historical and strategic ties between the two countries. They also discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, science, technology, and education.
