Mohammed Siraj Creates History: First Indian Fast Bowler to Bowl 1000+ Balls in a Test Series Since 2021

Team India's fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has achieved a special milestone with his outstanding performance in the ongoing Test series against England. Siraj has successfully played all five Test matches in this series.

Sports News: Team India's fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has achieved a historic feat in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Test Trophy 2025 against England. Siraj is the only fast bowler from the Indian team to have played all five Test matches in this series, and he has created a significant record by bowling over 1000 balls.

This achievement makes him the first Indian and second overall bowler to accomplish this in the series. Prior to him, England's experienced bowler Chris Woakes had crossed this mark in the series.

Indian Fast Bowlers Bowling 1000+ Balls in a Series

In the five Test matches played so far, Mohammed Siraj has bowled 1088 balls. During this time, he has taken 20 wickets at an average of 36.85 and conceded a total of 737 runs. These statistics clearly show that he has played a crucial role in India's victory. He is also the highest wicket-taker in this series. He is followed by England's Josh Tongue with 19 wickets in second place.

Mohammed Siraj has become the 28th fast bowler for India to bowl more than 1000 balls in a single Test series. However, he is the first Indian bowler to do so in the last four years. Previously, Jasprit Bumrah had delivered a similar performance against England in 2021. Bumrah's performance was also memorable, and Siraj has carried forward that legacy.

Who are India's Top Performers After Siraj?

Jasprit Bumrah, who played only three Tests in this series, still managed to take 14 wickets. His strike rate and economy have been impressive in this series. Besides him, Akash Deep, who recently joined Team India, has also performed brilliantly, taking 13 wickets. After Siraj, these two Indian bowlers have been prominent figures in the series.

The Oval Test, which is the fifth and final match of the series, has now reached a crucial juncture. Before the start of the fifth day's play, India needs only 4 wickets to win, while England requires 35 more runs. Jamie Overton and Jamie Smith are at the crease and are trying their best to keep England in the match.

However, Team India's bowlers are aiming to finish this Test quickly. The eyes of the whole world are on the outcome of this match, and it will be very exciting to see which side the final Test goes in favor of.
