Chhattisgarh Encounter: An encounter between security forces and Naxalites has once again been reported in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. This encounter took place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the forests of the Gangaloor police station area, where a joint team of DRG (District Reserve Guard) and STF (Special Task Force) was out on an anti-Naxal operation. Security forces launched this operation following confirmed information about Maoists in the forest.
Heavy Firing from Both Sides
According to police sources, continuous firing is taking place from both sides during the encounter. As per the information received so far, one Naxalite has been killed, and weapons have also been recovered from him. A large number of security forces have been deployed at the encounter site, and the operation is still ongoing.
Naxalite's Body Recovered from the Scene
Inspector General of Police of Bastar Range, Sundarraj P, confirmed the encounter and stated that the area of the forest where the operation is being conducted is considered an active zone for Naxalites. He said that the body of a Naxalite and weapons have been recovered from the scene. The encounter is still ongoing, so the final situation cannot be confirmed.

This encounter is being considered an important part of the anti-Naxal operation. Officials believe that more Naxalites are likely to be killed in this action. 227 Naxalites Killed in 2025 So Far
According to police figures, a total of 227 Naxalites have been killed in Chhattisgarh so far in the year 2025, most of whom are from the Bastar division. Joint operations are being conducted continuously by the state government and central forces in the Naxal-affected areas, which is continuously hitting the Naxalite network.
