The seat-sharing process within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for Bihar is almost in its final stages. It is expected that a formal announcement will be made by late Saturday evening.
Patna: Bihar politics is once again at a major turning point. The long-running negotiations regarding seat distribution within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have now almost concluded. Late Friday evening, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal informed that an agreement has been reached on all seats among the constituent parties, and a formal announcement is likely to be made by late Saturday evening.
Jaiswal stated that an agreement on seat-sharing (Bihar NDA Seat Sharing 2025) has been reached with all alliance partners — JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha), and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. He further informed that the list of candidates would be released in a phased manner after the announcement of seats.
Possibility of a Stampede in Mahagathbandhan: Jaiswal's Claim
BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal also claimed that a major political upheaval is imminent in the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). According to him, several senior leaders and incumbent MLAs from the Mahagathbandhan are set to join the BJP. He stated, “Within the next two days, there will be a stampede in the opposition alliance, and many prominent faces will join the NDA.”
According to political sources, the BJP has increased its outreach to several opposition leaders in recent days, which could strengthen the party ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Strategic Meetings in Delhi, Final Seal on Seats Soon
According to information, Dilip Jaiswal departed for Delhi late Friday night. It is believed that he has been called to discuss the final list of NDA seat allocations. Sources indicate that a meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) will be held on Saturday, while a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board is scheduled for Sunday.
Following these two meetings, the BJP will finalize its list of candidates. Prior to this, the NDA will formally announce the seat-sharing arrangement. As per information from BJP headquarters, the seat distribution formula has largely been decided. It is likely that
- JDU may get approximately 101 seats,
- BJP around 100 seats,
- Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 26 seats,
- Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM party 8 seats,
- and Upendra Kushwaha's party 7 seats.
As soon as news of the meeting regarding seat allocation and candidate lists spread, several current BJP MLAs and prospective candidates arrived in Delhi. Crowds of ticket aspirants are being seen at the party headquarters and the residences of central leaders.
