Noida has issued a tender for the construction of a modern sports complex at an estimated cost of approximately ₹71 crore as part of efforts to develop world-class sports infrastructure in the city. Agencies interested in participating in the tender process have been asked to submit applications within 15 days.
The project aims to support the growing sports ecosystem in Noida by providing modern facilities for athletes. A large number of young sportspersons in the city are preparing for careers in various disciplines, but limited availability of modern sports infrastructure has posed challenges. Once completed, the proposed sports complex is expected to enable athletes to practise multiple sports at a single venue.
The project proposes the development of modern sports infrastructure, including training facilities for athletes, spectator amenities, parking, an administrative block, modern changing rooms, fitness-related facilities and other basic infrastructure. The final layout will be determined in accordance with the approved construction plan and technical design.
According to authority officials, the tender process will be conducted in a transparent manner. Applications received within the prescribed deadline will undergo technical and financial evaluation. The eligible agency will be selected in accordance with the prescribed rules, following which construction work will begin. Officials said quality standards will not be compromised and the project is targeted for completion within the stipulated timeframe.
Noida has continued to focus on expanding sports infrastructure over the past few years. Several initiatives have been implemented to improve training facilities for local athletes alongside the organisation of national and state-level sporting events. The proposed sports complex is considered one of the projects under this effort.
Sports experts said the modern sports complex is expected to reduce the need for local athletes to travel to larger cities or other states for training. Improved facilities are also expected to strengthen preparations for national and international competitions. In addition, the project could increase the possibility of hosting major sporting events in the future, benefiting the local economy and sports culture.
Agencies participating in the tender will be required to comply with the prescribed eligibility criteria, technical standards and timelines. They must also submit the required documents and financial details along with their applications. Proposals received after the deadline will generally not be considered.
Players and sports organisations in the city have welcomed the project, stating that modern sports infrastructure will provide better opportunities for young athletes and further strengthen Noida's position as a sports centre while encouraging greater participation in sports.
The authority said all necessary administrative and technical procedures will be expedited to complete the project within the stipulated timeline. The tender process for the ₹71 crore project has commenced, and interested agencies must submit their applications within the prescribed 15-day period. Construction will begin after completion of the selection process.
