North India Braces for Winter: Day Warmth Fades as Night Chill and Snowfall Intensify

The weather in Delhi-NCR is changing these days. During the day, a slight warmth is felt, while at night, a mild chill is experienced due to a drop in temperature.

Weather Update: The weather in Delhi-NCR currently appears a bit erratic. Warmth is felt during the day, while a mild chill is experienced at night. According to the Meteorological Department, these conditions will persist for the next few days, after which the intensity of cold in Delhi will gradually increase.

As for other states in North India, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh are likely to experience mixed weather on Friday. Light clouds will cover the sky, and a pleasant chill can also be felt at night. Weather experts say that an increasing difference between day and night temperatures will make people experience both mild cold and warmth.

Weather Situation in Delhi-NCR

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi-NCR will experience warmth during the day due to sunlight, while a mild chill will be felt during morning and night hours due to a drop in temperature. Local residents reported that despite a slight warmth during the day, the coolness in the air at night is quite noticeable.

An IMD weather expert stated that over the next two-three days, Delhi-NCR will continue to experience mild warmth during the day and cool winds at night. Temperatures might drop further around Diwali.

Weather in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand

Weather is gradually changing in the plains of North India. Light clouds will cover many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. The weather will remain dry in most places, but a mild chill will be experienced during morning and evening hours. The Meteorological Department stated that these states will see sunny days, keeping daytime temperatures normal, but nighttime temperatures will record a drop. Along with this, people have been advised to keep light warm clothes ready and prepare to protect themselves from cold waves at night.

Chance of Light Rain in Kolkata and Bengal Coastal Areas

West Bengal's capital, Kolkata, has not received rain for the past four days. The Meteorological Department predicts light rain in the coastal areas of Bengal on Saturday and Sunday. However, the probability of rain in Kolkata is low, though the sky will remain cloudy. Weather experts stated that Kolkata's weather will largely remain dry, but some coastal districts of Bengal might experience light drizzle.

Snowfall and Cold Wave in Hilly Regions

Snowfall has begun in hilly states like Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. In high-altitude areas, mercury is rapidly falling due to snowfall, and its effect will be felt in the plains as well. This marks the onset of a cold wave. IMD has warned that if snowfall continues like this until Diwali, the intensity of the cold wave could further increase.

In many high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, snowfall has intensified the feeling of cold for local residents, while in the plains, a mild chill is being felt during morning and evening hours.
